This is the latest Studio DJ Mix from Mr. Norman Cook released last Year in Australia. Unlike his classic sets from 1996-99 era, that consisted of classic Big Beat mixed in with Acid, Hip-Hop, Funk, Indie etc this Mix is more akin to the current crop of Electro and Fidget House among the likes of Herve and Fake Blood (who are both represented on this mix), which I like, but I do miss the eclectic nature of this earlier sets.There are some brilliant tunes on this mix such as Herve's mix of Kidda's "Under The Sun" and "Knock You Out" by Black Noise (credited as their usual name of Aquasky on the CD, though) two tracks I adopted into my own DJ sets. Other highlights include Cheap Thrills (another Herve Track), Fake Blood's "Blood Splashing", which opens the mix and the DFA remix of the Gorillaz classic "Dare"Despite some fantastic tunes on this mix, the actual mixing itself isn't quite on par as the likes of Norm's other CD mixes such as "On The Floor At The Boutique" and "Essential Millenium", but still, It is worth a buy considering it's quite rare and only released on Import.
