The Wackdaddies bring in the club-ready house with their debut, FEAR OF A WACK PLANET, and there's plenty of upbeat grooves to be had here, from the disco funk bass of "Wackdaddies Take Cali" to the piano line on "A Walk in the Park." "Toughlove @ The Old Folks Home" offers up some cut-up horns, and the brightness of "Still Want Your Love" glows like a thousand disco balls all shining at once. The tracks are separated with little interludes from urban cinema that serve as palate cleansers, allowing us to savor the chopped up pieces of Earth Wind and Fire's "Let's Groove Tonight" samples in "Cut-Up" or the orchestral stabs on "Plastic." Though the tracks are plenty energetic, they don't offer much for home listening, so enjoy while in full movement, the way they were meant to be enjoyed.
